India’s Top 10 Best-Selling Cars in June 2024: Insights and Trends

In June 2024, India’s traditional as well as electric vehicles were in high demand. You can see this phenomenon in the top ten best-selling cars, all of which reflect a booming market.

The Tata Punch / EV continues to reclaim the top spot, after falling behind by losing its No. 1 position in May 2024 for one month against Maruti Swift as it did sales of an impressive number with a chart-busting tally of 18,238 units sold last month. It is a jump of almost 66% year-on-year and the brand holds an impressive 12.45% of the market share.

There was a 2% decline in overall sales month-on-month, but some models did perform rather well. Tata Punch / EV continued to be the best-seller with 18,238 units in June (-3.75% MoM) Maruti Swift posted a steeper fall of 15.32%, Hyundai Creta and Maruti Ertiga came up with significantly higher MOM growth at 11.12% and 14.46%. Maruti Baleno was another car to do well with 15.99% growth in its sales

Despite these broad, though little details touched upon in a different post, most individual models had sharp losses for June. Maruti WagonR registered a decline of 4.84%, the maximum sale dip was enrolled by the Maruti Dzire of about -16.44%, and standing third is claimed by another highly popular vehicle, the Maruti Brezza with a fall in demand numbers to be around -7.15%.

There was also a 10.28% fall in demand for the Mahindra Scorpio / N. On the other hand, Tata Nexon / EV increased during the month by 5.32% MoM. These numbers underscore an India on the move, a market that is changing and one where consumer preferences are moving from traditional favorites to electric cars.
