India’s shooters delivered another solid haul on Day 3 of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, with Himanshu Dhillon and Rudrankksh Patil finishing second and third in the men’s 10m air rifle individual final, adding a silver and a bronze to the country’s growing medal collection in Japan.
Dhillon closed out his final series with a score of 231.0 to claim silver, while Patil edged out the competition for bronze with 230.9. China’s Sheng Lihao topped the podium with a commanding 233.0 to take gold. Earlier in the team event, the Indian trio of Patil, Parth Mane and Dhillon combined for 1890.1 points to add a team silver as well, with China again taking gold and South Korea settling for bronze.

The two individual and team results mean India has now collected three silver medals through the first three days of competition, all of them coming from the shooting range after the women’s 10m air rifle team and individual silvers on Day 2.
Elsewhere on Day 3, India’s campaign showed promising signs across other disciplines. The women’s table tennis team opened their group stage with a comfortable 3-0 win over Pakistan, while swimmer Srihari Nataraj advanced through to the final of the men’s 50m backstroke. In soft tennis, the mixed doubles pairing of Aadhya Tiwari and Jay Meena finished as group runners-up to keep their medal hopes alive heading into the knockout rounds.
With shooting continuing to be India’s most consistent medal source early in the Games, all eyes now turn to the individual air rifle events and the wrestling and athletics disciplines later in the week, where the contingent will be hoping to convert more of its strong qualifying performances into medals of every colour.
