Indian Railways Launches SwaRail SuperApp with 1-Stop Access to Ticket Booking, PNR Status, and More

SwaRail is an online ticket booking facility that allows users to book reserved and unreserved tickets and offers a wide variety of services ranging from platform and parcel reservation platforms to train and PNR status rights and customer service for trains through Rail Madad. The app is currently in beta testing on Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store, with the full public launch scheduled for shortly after the testing period is over.

It allows users to book reserved and unreserved tickets, check parcel and freight information, train status, PNR status, order food on trains, and Rail Madad (complaint management system). It is equipped with advanced features like Single Sign-On, whereby users will be able to use one set of credentials to avail of all Indian Railways services. These credentials will also be valid on existing railway apps like IRCTC RailConnect and UTS Mobile. Bringing multiple rail services under one umbrella, their new SuperApp eliminates the need for multiple apps. Rather than needing different apps to book tickets, check the schedule for running trains, and lodge complaints, SwaRail provides everything in a single, seamless interface.

Also, the app has been specifically crafted for easy onboarding. Existing users can sign in with their RailConnect or UTS credentials, while new users only need to register with a few data entries. After logging into the app, it enables fast login via m-PIN or biometrics. Currently, the app is only available for beta testing, with reports indicating that all testing slots are full. However, once the public rollout begins, users will be able to download SwaRail from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Existing RailConnect or UTS users can log in directly, while new users will be able to register easily with minimal effort.
