## Brazil: The Biggest Game in Indian Football History

Carlo Ancelotti’s five-time world champions, ranked fifth globally, arrive fresh off a Round of 16 exit to Norway at the 2026 World Cup. Fans can expect to see stars like Vinicius Junior, Marquinhos, Bruno Guimarães and Raphinha turn out at the “Mecca of Indian football.”

## Uruguay: Diego Forlán’s Emotional Homecoming

For former Mumbai City FC favourite Diego Forlán, this fixture doubles as a personal return to Indian shores, now in his new role as Uruguay’s head coach following Marcelo Bielsa’s group-stage exit at the World Cup. Two-time world champions Uruguay bring names like Federico Valverde, Darwin Núñez and Ronald Araújo to Kolkata.

## Panama: A Familiar Challenge, Fresh Opposition

Coached by Thomas Christiansen, Panama impressed at the World Cup despite an early exit, holding both Ghana and Croatia to 1-0 scorelines and limiting England to just two goals. Featuring Besiktas’ Michael Amir Murillo and Norwich’s José Córdoba, they’ll be no easy test for India’s opener in Bengaluru.

## Why It Matters for Indian Football?

With India coming off a disappointing run in Asian Cup qualifiers and the Unity Cup, this stretch offers a rare opportunity to measure themselves against genuine world-class opposition. Full fixture confirmations are available on the [official AIFF website](https://www.the-aiff.com/).
