India dominated Kyrgyz Republic 4-0 in their final Round 1 game of the AFC Qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympics Women’s Football Tournament. They have now moved to the Round 2 qualifiers for the Olympics next year.

Back to back wins for the women in Blue helped them see-off their opponents 9-0 on aggregate. Sandhiya, Anju Tamang, and Renu found the back of the net in their 4-0 win. Tamang led from the front, with the captain achieving a brace in the dominant win.

India women rout Kyrgyz Republic to win 9-0 on aggregate

The visitors were on the front foot from the get-go, Tamang had a few great chances squandered early on before Sandhiya scored a remarkable solo goal to give her side the lead. India were a player light when Karthika was sent off in the 22nd minute, but it didn’t pose any serious issues for them.

Tamang found the back of the net only a minute later, doubling their lead as they headed back to the changing rooms. Kyrgyz Republic tried to get back into the game in the second half, but two goals from India in the second half as well saw all their hopes dampened.

India had made it to Round 2 for Tokyo 2020, but were eliminated on goal difference. This time around, they will be keen on turning things around and making the final tournament.
