India restricted their opposition Sri Lanka to 28/1 by Stumps . Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant hit half centuries on Sunday, on the other hand, Bumrah shined with his bowling attack.

Pant created a record of fastest 50 in Test by an Indian in just 28 balls. He was dismissed by Jayawickrama. Jadeja scored 10 and Shreyas Iyer scored 18 unbeaten and by the dinner break, India was at 199/5. The two had partnered to muster 50 runs. Ferando picket Jadeja’s wicket on 22 runs. Iyer scored 67 runs and Ashwin scored 13. Axar Patel was the last player to score 9 runs before Indian skipper Rohit Sharma declared India’s innings. Bumrah dismissed Thirimanne on 0 after which Mendis and Karunaratne played the rest overs of the day.
