Day 2 of 1st Test match got over on Saturday. Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the game scoring a total of 175 not out. India had posted 574/8 before letting Sri Lanka close at 108/4 at Stumps. The visitors’ trail by 466 runs. Ashwin had bagged two wickets. The match was held at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali.

That will be STUMPS on Day 2 of the 1st Test.

Match Highlights

On the second day, Sri Lanka trailed India by 466 runs at the stumps. Ravindra Jadeja had his second Test century today and posted a total run score of 574/8 against Sri Lanka at Mohali. Jadeja ended up getting 175 runs for the team. R Ashwin had also hit a half-century. Sri Lanka in response lost both their openers, Thirimanne and Karunaratne quickly to Ashwin and Jadeja.

Top 10 bowlers with the most wickets in test cricket history

Rishabh Pant on Day 1 had smashed 96 runs that help India to get at 357 runs for six. He escaped a century so close to Suranga Lakmal. Pant and Jadeja together had a run stand of 104 runs where Jadeja was unbeaten at 45 runs. Sri Lanka sent spinner Lasith Embuldeniya for their bowling attack but Pant had played his best shots. Sri lankan openers Lahiru Thirimanne scored 17 and Dimuth KArunaratne scored 28 runs. Together they had a run stand of 48 runs before they got dismissed successively. Jasprit Bumrah took Angelo Mathew’s wicket on 22 after Sri Lanka passed 100 runs in the 35th over. Ashwin picked his second wicket dismissing Dhananjaya de Silva.

At the end of the 2nd Day, Sri Lanka ended at 108/4.
