India tour of South Africa 1st Test, Day 2
The Day 2 of the Test for India vs South Africa got called off in Centurion by the umpires at 1:55pm local time. There has been heavy rain throughout the night, morning and afternoon made it impossible for the two teams to play. The umpires inspected twice, one at 11:30am and another at 12:45pm but the rain finished every ounce of hope.
However, the weather is expected to improve on day 3 and day 4 but there’s a chance of rain again on day 5. This means that more time will be lost and there will be no fair result. Due to the washout, it has frustrated in India’s camp than South Africa’s. At Day 1, the South African team had a strong game with 272 runs taking 3 wickets. KL Rahul surpassed 100 runs and scoring 73 runs for the fourth wicket.
Rahul scored 117 runs, for the first wicket, Mayank Agarwal made 60 and 82 for the third wicket with Virat Kohli. . Lungi Ngidi was the only wicket-taker for South Africa, ending day one with figures of 3 for 45. CSA confirmed that Duanne Oliver had missed out on the selection as a consequence of Covid-19. He tested positive a few weeks ago and hamstring niggle.
Marco Jansen, who’s the left-arm seamer took Oliver’s place and had a tough start to his Test career. The day one ended with a figure of 0 for 61 in 17 overs.
