India crushed New Zealand in the third ODI by 90 runs. With the victory, the hosts whitewashed the visitors by 3-0. Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill posted two centuries that helped India reach 385. New Zealand came to bat in the second innings for 295 in 41.2 overs. Devon Conway too mustered a ton off 138 balls. Previously, Rohit Sharma smashed 101 off 85 balls and Gill smashed 112 in 78 balls. With the win, India became the No.1 team in the ODI format.

India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI: Match Highlights

New Zealand’s skipper Tom Lathan won the toss and opted to field first. India as invited to bat in the first innings posted a total of 385 runs in 50 overs. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill mustered a century each and had a run stand of 212 runs in 26.1 overs. Mithcell dismissed the skipper for 101 and Shubman Gill departed shortly after him. India lost six wickets quickly had put the team under pressure. Hardik Pandya piled up 54 runs off 38 balls and Virat Kohli mustered 36 off 27 balls. Even though the visitors had to pile up a huge total, but it looked like it was a very easy challenge. Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal scalped three wickets that put New Zealand in a very difficult position. New Zealand’s player Devon Conway mustered a ton as the visitors were chasing a huge target. They had a good start as Conway and Nicholas added 106 runs. Kuldeep Yadav scalped Nicholas’s wicket for 42. Conway was dismissed by Umran Malik. Sooner, their wickets started falling at regular intervals, and the game slipped out of their hands. By 41.2 overs all of their wickets were gone and they could reach only 295 runs.
