Samson was well-supported by the skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, who smashed 75 off 31 balls, bringing up his fifty in just 23 deliveries. Together, the duo added 173 runs for the third wicket, decimating Bangladesh’s bowling attack.

Towards the end, Hardik Pandya (47 off 18) and Riyan Parag (34 off 13) further punished Bangladesh, adding 70 runs in quick succession. The final flourish left Bangladesh with an almost insurmountable chase of 298.

Litton Das (42) and Towhid Hridoy (54*) put up some resistance, but it wasn’t enough as wickets fell at regular intervals. Mayank Yadav, who finished with 2/22, was impressive, while Varun Chakaravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi kept the pressure on with tight spells.

The match also marked the final T20I appearance for Bangladesh’s former skipper Mahmudullah Riyad, who was dismissed for 8 in his farewell game. Despite some flashes of brilliance from their middle order, Bangladesh could only manage 164/7, losing by a massive 133 runs.
