On the 2nd day of the 1st test, Bangladesh got into a difficult situation as India reduced them to 133/8 in the final session. Mehidy Hasan Miraz handpicked four Ebadot Hossain’s 31-run stand couldn’t help the team. Indian bowler Kuldeep Yadav picked up four wickets disrupting the middle over. Mohammad Siraj scalped three wickets and Umesh Yadav got one. Earlier, India had piled 404 runs.

The first test match between India and Bangladesh is held at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The visitors were awarded five penalty runs. This happened during India’s first innings on Thursday as a throw from a Bangladesh fielder hit a helmet that was kept on the ground beside Bangladeshi wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan. The hosts have penalized five runs. KL Rahul and Co. went past the mark of 300, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav being last at the crease. The men in blue were all out in their first innings on Day 2 of the opening test against Bangladesh on Thursday. Ravichandran Ashwin smashed 58 runs and Kuldeep Yadav scored 40 which was significant for the team to cross the 400 mark. India had reached a commanding total with the help of two sixes from Umesh. The highest scorers of the team were Cheteshwar pujari (90) and Shreyas Iyer (86) from India. Bangladeshi spinners dup Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were in their best form. The former picked 4 wickets giving 144 runs while the latter leaked 112 runs scalping 4 wickets. Ebadat Hossain’s scorecard was 1/70 while Khaled Ahmed’s was 1/43. Shakib- Al Hasan’s unavailability to bowl because of his rib injury proved to be disadvantageous for the hosts.
