Cricket fans, buckle up — the **India A vs Afghanistan A** clash in the ODI Tri-Nation Series 2026 turned into pure box-office drama at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. With India A riding high after a thrilling opening win over Sri Lanka A, all eyes were on teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to deliver fireworks again — and he didn’t disappoint, even if the ending left fans wanting more.

## What Went Down?

Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 39 off just 19 balls, helping India A race to 59 without loss after six overs, continuing his blistering powerplay form. He eventually fell for 44 off 22 balls, packed with nine boundaries, after edging a short ball from Abdullah Ahmadzai behind the stumps. Opening partner Priyansh Arya couldn’t replicate his Australia A heroics this time, departing for 8 off 9 balls after holing out at point off Ahmadzai, who was clearly Afghanistan’s standout bowler with the breakthrough wickets. India A entered the match under Tilak Varma’s captaincy, fresh off a famous eight-run win over Sri Lanka A.
