India picked up a dominant win over South Africa in the decider of their 3-ODI series. With their 7-wicket victory over the Proteas, India also won the MasterCard series 2-1 despite losing the first match.

Kuldeep Yadav led the bowling attack to an outstanding field day. He picked up four wickets, while the rest of the bowling attack provided support to bowl out the visitors for only 99.

Shikhar Dhawan put South Africa to bat, and the decision proved to be a rewarding one. Henricch Klassen scored a 42-ball 34, which was the only source of momentum for the visitors. Wickets started falling right from the second over, which restricted them to a barebones total in 27 overs.

Shubman Gill narrowly missed out on a half century, having scored 49 runs from 57 deliveries. Shreyas Iyer sealed the win with a six, taking their total to 105 for the loss of only three wickets.

With the win, the Blues have now matched Australia’s record for the most wins in a calendar year – across all formats. And with more games to come soon, they can set the record all for themselves in a matter of time.

India now turn their attention to the T20 World Cup in Australia, which starts in a matter of days.
