India Qualifiers Announced for Skyesports Souvenir, 4 CS:GO Teams to Represent the Country

The Skyesports Souvenir is making a comeback in 2023 with the inclusion of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). In an effort to reach a wider audience, this renowned esports event will now include six countries competing for supremacy. To determine the Indian representative, the Skyesports Souvenir will hold the India Qualifiers on September 22-24.

Four teams have been specifically selected to participate in the India Qualifiers. Here are the teams that have received direct invitations:

Sharing his thoughts on the tournament, Shiva Nandy, the Founder and CEO of Skyesports, expressed his excitement about the upcoming Skyesports Souvenir, the official Counter-Strike tournament. This event marks another significant milestone in their efforts to establish a thriving Counter-Strike esports scene in India. Furthermore, Nandy emphasized that the tournament will offer domestic teams a chance to compete against international counterparts, expanding the reach of Skyesports and bringing exciting Counter-Strike action to more regions within the country.

The four teams will compete in a Round-Robin format to determine the champions. All matches will be live-streamed on various platforms including Skyesports YouTube, Facebook, Loco, and Glance channels. Here is the schedule for the matches. 

Friday (Sept. 22)

The Indian Representative for the Skyesports Souvenir – International Playoffs, scheduled for September 25 to 30, will be determined as the winner of the competition. India will join five other Asian countries in the Counter-Strike tournament. The upcoming Souvenir 2023 is supported by the collaboration between AMD and Windows 11. As stated in the India Games Market Report 2023 by Niko Partners, India’s gaming industry is projected to generate a total revenue of $868 million in 2023, which is an increase of 21.2 percent compared to the previous year.

The number of gamers in the country is currently at 444.4 million and is anticipated to surpass 641 million by 2023. Moreover, the report highlights that 71.8 percent of Indian gamers actively participate in esports, making events like the Skyesports Souvenir an ideal platform for brands to engage with this highly-involved gaming community.
