India have revealed a new jersey alongside their outfit partner Performax ahead of the crucial FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers to be played next week. The Blue Tigers will first face Kuwait on June 6 at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata, followed by a big match against Qatar.

Igor Stimac’s side will need to win against Kuwait to place themselves second in their group, which would be enough to see them through to Round 3 of the Qualifiers, which has been a long-term objective for the AIFF.

The match against Kuwait will be India captain Sunil Chhetri’s final one for the national team. The striker will retire after scoring 94 goals in 150 games, as one of the top scorers in international football. The game against Kuwait on June 6 will be the only time the skipper will don the vibrant new jersey, as he ends his career in front of the home fans at Salt Lake Stadium.

The new jersey features India’s traditional blue colour, embroidered by tiger stripes in a lighter shade of blue. The design is a big improvement on previous versions, with fans positively receiving the announcement.

The women’s national team will also sport the new kit when they face Uzbekistan on June 1.
