In a historic moment for Indian cricket, the Men in Blue achieved the No. 1 spot in all three formats – Test, ODI, and T20I, today. This achievement is significant for several reasons, as it not only reflects India’s consistency and dominance in world cricket but also highlights the team’s remarkable depth and versatility.
However, the joy was not long-lived, as ICC has once again updated their Test rankings which currently puts Australia as the No 1 ranked ICC Test team. India were at the top for just 5 hours.
India loses its No 1 spot in ICC Test ranking to Australia after just 5 hours
Australia currently has 3668 points from 29 matches which gives them a rating of 126. This places them at the top of the ranking table. India have a 115 rating with 3690 points from 31 matches, which puts them in second place.
As earlier reported, India would need a 3-0 or 3-1 or 4-0 win against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar trophy, which India currently leads 1-0. It seems to be a technical glitch from ICC. However, India are not far away from achieving this historic moment as the team seems in fine form and almost impossible to beat in Tests at their home grounds.
