The Indian hockey team is heading into the finals of the Champions Trophy 2024 as the favourite against China. The Blue Tigers went unbeaten through the group stage, defeating Pakistan (2-1), Korea (3-1), and Malaysia (8-1).

Now, they have a chance of winning the tournament altogether. The team defeated Korea 3-1 earlier in the tournament, and have now defeated them 4-1 to claim their spot in the final.

Having conceded only five goals in six games, the Indian defence is rock solid, and must continue to be the foundation of their approach in the semis. They have also been very productive in attack, scoring five against Japan and eight against Malaysia.

As a result, the Blues need to maintain their composure and continue playing their regular game. The pressure of the big stage is something that they must find their way around as a team.

The Blue Tigers have entered a new era after the emotional retirement of PR Sreejesh. And their current goalkeepers, Krishan Bahadur Pathak and Suraj Karkera have stepped up to replace the legend beautifully so far. Now, only one opponent stands between them and the coveted title.
