The third T20I between India and New Zealand couldn’t get completed due to interruption caused by the rain. India was chasing 161 runs but fell in a difficult situation since rain intervened in the process. As per the DLS method, both the teams were at par score. Indian bowler Mohammad Siraj has been announced the Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance. He picked up four wickets giving only 17 runs.

The men in blue lost three wickets in the powerplay, Ishan Kishan scored only 10, Rishabh Pant got out for 11 and Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for a first-ball duck. Ish Sodhi picked Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket but both Hardik Pandya and Deepak Hooda let the runs flow in. Previously, Arshdeep Singh and Siraj scalped four wickets each. New Zealand batters Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips mustered 86 runs for the third wicket. Philips got out by Siraj for 54 runs in 33 deliveries and Arshedeep got the wicket of Conway for 59 runs. The series mainly got washed out due to rain but India’s win in the second match helped them take a lead in this three-match series.

In the second match, Suryakumar Yadav’s 111 contributed to India’s victory. He reached the three-figure mark with consecutive fours in the 19th over from Lockie Ferguson. Overall, he smashed 11 fours and seven sixes.

The next ODI series between India and New Zealand will start on November 25 at 7 PM.
