Ind vs Eng 4th Test: Rohit Sharma’s Remarkable Century helps India fight its way back against England on Day Three

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul had cut the English side’s lead to 56 at the end of day two as India finished with 43 for the loss of no wicket. Consequently, India’s hopes of saving the test match lied on the opening partnership on day three. Delivering to the expectations of the fans, both Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave a great start in the first session of Day four.

Rahul and Sharma played positively and gave India a good start by adding 30 more runs to yesterday ‘s total. However, Anderson broke the partnership at the right time by dismissing KL Rahul for 46. Following the opener’s dismissal, Pujara who found his mojo back in the last test stepped into bat.

Along with Rohit, Cheteshwar played some glorious shots and looked in great touch. The Hitman who had showed grit and patience early in the innings cashed in once he settled down and helped India score at a good rate.

During this process, Rohit Sharma reached his maiden overseas century and helped India claw it’s way back into the 4th test. Pujara soon reached his 50 mark and the pair added a 150 run stand.

Ollie Robinson’s double blow keeps the Fourth Test in Balance against India

As soon as the new ball was available Joe Root did not waste any time to take the opportunity. However, the English captain surprisingly handed the ball to Ollie Robinson instead of Anderson. Although the decision proved to be a master class as he took the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Pujara in the same over. Thus the tide of the test match turned again and India were 237-3.

Following the double breakthrough, Virat Kohli and Jadeja ensured to not give away their wicket. Subsequently both players added few runs before play ended prematurely due to bad light. To summarize the day’s play, India finished with 270 for the loss of three wickets and lead by 171 runs. As a result, courtesy of Rohit Sharma’s 127 and Pujara’s 61 the test match hangs in balance and day four would probably decide the outcome of the fourth game.
