Sometimes a single social media post is all it takes to send fans into a frenzy. That’s exactly what happened when Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph shared a cryptic image hinting at his rumored project with Allu Arjun — and the internet immediately connected the dots.

### The Hint That Started It All

Basil Joseph posted a picture of a cap embroidered with the word “Icon,” paired with a star emoji in the caption — a clear nod to Allu Arjun’s popular nickname, the Icon Star. The image also featured two silhouetted figures in the background, fueling speculation that the collaboration is finally moving forward.

### What We Know About the Project

| Detail | Status |
| --- | --- |
| Lead Actor | Allu Arjun |
| Director | Basil Joseph |
| Official Confirmation | Not yet announced |
| Expected Timeline | After Raaka and AA23 wrap |
| Rumored Earlier Project | Shaktimaan (denied by co-writer) |

Reports suggest the film will only go on floors once Allu Arjun completes his current commitments — Raaka with Atlee and AA23 with Lokesh Kanagaraj. There was earlier chatter that this could be the shelved Shaktimaan project, but Minnal Murali co-writer Arun Anirudhan clarified that Shaktimaan was never actually pitched to Allu Arjun, meaning this upcoming film is something entirely fresh.

### What’s Keeping Allu Arjun Busy Right Now

Before this project can take shape, Allu Arjun has a packed slate ahead. He’s currently filming Raaka with director Atlee, a technically ambitious project featuring heavy CGI and VFX, with Deepika Padukone confirmed as the female lead. After that, he moves on to AA23 with Lokesh Kanagaraj, which recently underwent a look test. Basil Joseph, meanwhile, was last seen in Athiradi alongside Tovino Thomas, currently streaming on SonyLIV.

Malayalam cinema, the industry Basil Joseph comes from, has seen a wave of crossover collaborations with other South Indian film industries in recent years ([Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malayalam_cinema)).
