Gill’s Commanding Performance

Shubman Gill, who captained India during the Zimbabwe tour, also enjoyed a significant boost in his T20I rankings. Gill was the series top scorer, amassing 170 runs from five innings. His leadership on and off the field was instrumental in India’s dominance throughout the series.

Gill’s exceptional performance saw him climb an impressive 36 places to reach the 37th spot in the ICC T20I batting rankings. This achievement makes him the fourth-highest ranked Indian T20I batsman, following Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Other Notable Performances

The tour also saw commendable performances from Indian bowlers Washington Sundar and Mukesh Kumar. Both players were the joint highest wicket takers in the series, each claiming eight wickets. Sundar’s efforts propelled him 36 spots up to the 46th position in the T20I bowling rankings, while Mukesh Kumar climbed 21 places to reach the 73rd spot.

On the Zimbabwean side, pacer Blessing Muzarabani’s impressive six wicket haul against India earned him an 11 place rise, placing him at 44th in the T20I bowling rankings. Additionally, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza’s all round performance saw him secure the 3rd spot in the T20I all-rounders rankings.
