Hyderabad FC thrashed NorthEast United 5-1 to close the gap on the league leaders, Mumbai City FC. The Nizams scored 3 goals in the last 12 minutes to dispatch their opponents with ease. Here are the three talking points from the game:
Intentions clear from the get-go
Hyderabad started off the game with the intent to win, and they did so in remarkable fashion. NorthEast United FC came out firing on all fronts after their half-time substitutions and really took the game to their opponents.
But eventually, the black and yellow club were able to grow back into the game. And after a number of attempts early in the second half, they were able to score three late goals to win the game by a convincing margin.
NorthEast United will be disappointed
The final scoreline does not accurately reflect the impact that the Highlanders had on the game. They forced Laxmikant Kattimani to make four saves, and scored one for themselves as well.
But, they were unable to find the final ball in the box, or finish their chances when it mattered. And ultimately, it came back to haunt them in the final stages of the game.
Hyderabad FC two points off the top
With ten points from five games, Hyderabad FC are only two points away from the league leaders, Mumbai City FC. They have played very well in their last few games, defeating the Sky Blues as well. And now, they will be hoping to continue their form in the upcoming fixtures to continue their challenge for the title.
