Hyderabad FC eased past SC East Bengal with a 4-0 win to climb back to the top of the table. Here are the three talking points from the game.
Ogbeche scores hat-trick and extends Golden Boot tally
The Nigerian scored a brace today, which took his goal tally in the ISL this season to 12. He is now four goals clear of Igor Angulo, his closest competitor for the award. The 37-year-old has been in fine form over the last few games, and today, he scored a very well taken hat-trick after toying with the East Bengal defenders.
Defensive lapse for SC East Bengal
Things were looking good for the Red and Gold Brigade in terms of defense over their last few games, having avoided a high scoring encounter ever since Renedy Singh took over as caretaker manager. However, they could do little to keep the Nizams as they fired four into the back of the net to dominate the game.
There was little chance for them to grow back into the game, after going three down at half time. Franjo Prce missing a penalty in the final minutes of the game denied them a consolation goal and a lower margin of defeat as well.
Hyderabad FC comfortably ascend to the top
The Nizams were at their best today, taking advantage of SC East Bengal’s mistakes, and keeping a clean sheet against a determined opposition as well. Laxmikant Kattimani’s penalty save in the final minutes was key to them in doing so, summing up a very good outing for the goalkeeper.
