Hyderabad FC and Chennaiyin FC played out a 1-1 draw to share a point in the ISL. Here are the three talking points from the game.
Debjit Majumder keeps his team in the game
The Chennaiyin FC goalkeeper was tested on multiple occassions, and the numbers show that he faced 19 shots between the sticks. Of the 10 shots on target, the keeper only conceded one and did extremely well to keep his side in the game and help them earn a point.
Hyderabad FC falter without Ogbeche
The Nigerian striker had to miss the game against Chennaiyin since he had picked up four yellow cards. Ogbeche was replaced by Javi Siverio in the starting line-up, who ultimately got the goal to level things up.
But, the absence of the league’s top scorer was evident for the team. Hyderabad created a number of chances but lacked the clinical final touch to finish their chances.
Hyderabad FC stay in the title race
Chennaiyin FC needed the win more than Hyderabad, but they ultimately had to settle for a draw. With a point from the game, they are now in 6th place with 15 points from 11 games. On the other hand, the Nizams are third with 17 points from 11 games.
They are only three points away from the top of the table, and did well to keep themselves ahead of Mumbai City FC and in the race for the league title.
