Wolves have completed the signing of RB Leipzig forward Hwang Hee-Chan on a permanent transfer. The player spent the initial part of the season on loan with Bruno Lage’s squad, and Wolves have made the decision to trigger the buy option in his loan deal.

The deal is worth €16 million, and will be paid in the coming months. Hwang Hee-Chan has been in remarkable form in front of goal for the Midlands club, and Bruno Lage has decided that he wants to keep the South Korean striker for the long run.

Hwang Hee-Chan makes permanent move to Wolves until 2026

Here is what the player had to say about his switch to the club’s official website: ‘I’m very happy to be here at Wolves until 2026. I feel very happy to play for a team with a really good manager and great teammates.

‘They have helped me with many things since I came here, and because of this, I have been able to focus just on me and my football and have been able to do my things well.

‘I want to say thank you to them because they have helped me to try my best.’

The 25-year-old has scored four goals in 14 appearances, and has been struggling with an injury in recent weeks. His hamstring issues have prevented an appearance since their 1-0 win against Brighton in December.

Being only three points behind West Ham United with two games in hand, Wolves will be hoping to mount a strong challenge for European football this season as well.
