Huawei’s AMD Ryzen 5000H powered MateBook 16 scheduled for a global launch

Huawei’s original Matebook 16 was touted by the company as its first truly high-performance laptop earlier in 2021. it included a panel with cutting-edge proportions which were complemented by a 2520×1680 resolution, bezels that confer a 90% screen-to-body ratio, and a 300-nit brightness.

The company has also advertised its MateBook 16 to also support 100% of the sRGB color-space and an average delta-E of around 1. And now, after a long wait and building excitement, the company announced that it’s MateBook 16 has finally received European pricing, and we also now an approximate availability of the device.

According to the OEM, the company’s latest MateBook, 16 will be coming to its new market in both of its main Ryzen 5 5600H- and Ryzen 7 5800H-powered options. They both still have their 16GB of RAM and 512GB NVMe SSDs, storage.

The MateBook 16 will also offer Bluetooth 5.1- and Wi-Fi 6, and the Matebook 16 SKUs will be costing around €1,099 (~US$1,274) and €1,199 (~$1,390) respectively. However, Huawei has yet to add release dates for the machines at these prices, and the Chinese tech giant has also not mentioned precise retail channels or methods. Therefore, interested consumers now face an uncertain and hopefully short wait for their next potential “high-performance” MacBook Pro 16 alternative.

As Huawei is struggling to rise despite having been under the scrutiny of the US administration and facing several bans, it’s good to see that the company is slowly trying to release flagship products and increasing its foothold in the market.
