After seven months of introducing the Huawei nova 7 SE, the company has relaunched Nova 8 SE today, which is considered the first phone of the Huawei Nova 8 series.
The Huawei nova 8 SE comes with two editions including- Standard edition and High edition, these two models are featured, two different octa-core processors. The High edition will support 5G connectivity, whereas the Standard edition does not. Apart from this, there are no other differences between these two models. Let’s check out all the specs of this phone.
The Huawei nova 8 sports a 6.53-inches Full HD+ OLED display with (1080×2400) pixels of screen resolution. This phone also features an under-display fingerprint sensor. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures (161.6×74.8×7.46) mm and weighs 178 grams. The phone offers in four colour options- Deep Sea Blue, Magic Night Black, Silver Moon Star, and Sakura Snow Clear Sky.
Both editions will run on EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10. But the Huawei nova 8 SE high edition is powered by octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC, whereas the Standard edition has Octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720SoC. Both editions are powered by the Mali-G57 GPU and come with 8GB +128GB of storage configuration.
Regarding the camera section, the nova 8 SE has a quad rear camera setup (flat frames like the iPhone 12), which includes a 64 MP primary sensor with an f/1.9 lens, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.4, and two 2MP macro & depth sensors with f/2.4 lenses. The LED flash is spotted at the center of the camera module. The rear camera setup supports 10x digital zoom and 4k video recording. On the front side, there is a teardrop notch cutout on the display to hold a 16 MP selfie shooter with an f/2.0 lens.
In terms of battery, the Huawei nova 8 SE will be fueled by a 3,800 mAh battery with the support of a massive 66W fast charging. Coming to the ports and buttons, the volume rocker and the power key are on the right side. Connectivity options include- 5G connectivity for High Edition, 4G connectivity for Standard edition, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPA/A-GPA, and USB Type-C port for charging. Onboard sensors of this phone include- gravity sensor, compass, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
Regarding the pricing, the Huawei nova 8 SE standard edition is priced at CNY 2,599(Roughly Rs. 29,100), whereas the High edition has a price tag of CNY 2,699(Roughly Rs. 30,200). It is currently up for pre-booking in China and will go on sale starting November 11. But there is no information about the global availability of this phone.
