Huawei is slowly and steadily penetrating into the laptop market with its variety of notebooks to help consumers build a great Huawei ecosystem. It has now launched the MateBook 13 with the older Ryzen 5 3500U APU with Radeon Vega 8 graphics in the UK market.

The MateBook 13 features a 13-inch IPS LCD FullView 2K display with 2160 x 1440 pixel resolution along with 3:2 aspect ratio. The display has an impressive 88% screen-to-body ratio with 300 nits of peak brightness and covers 100% sRGB colour gamut. Obviously, the display of the laptop seems great and weighing just 1.31 kg it’s easier to carry anywhere.

The laptop does have a premium look, thanks to the aluminium alloy unibody design with sleek 14.9 mm metallic frame which is meticulously crafted with a diamond-cut finish on each corner. It features a full-sized chiclet keyboard with adjustable backlighting option.

For the performance, we have the AMD Ryzen 5-3500U processor with integrated Radeon Vega 8 GPU and is paired with up to 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB SSD or 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD storage.

Huawei has provided a 42Wh battery and is bundled with a 65W USB-C charger with Huawei SuperCharge technology that can charge any compatible Huawei and Honor smartphones. The laptop can be charged from 0 to 50% in only 30 minutes. For, cooling Huawei’s Shark Fin 2.0 fan design can dissipate heat faster by using dual fans, achieving a 25% speed increase than normal fans.

As for the software, you get Windows 10 Home pre-installed with Huawei Share technology that lets you sync your Huawei smartphone and use both of them together for seamless collaboration. Also, Huawei has baked a fingerprint reader into the power button for fast & secure unlocks. It also has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support and a 1 MP front camera as well.

On the connectivity front, you have 802.11a/b/g/n/ac dual-band Wi-Fi with 2 x 2 MIMO technology and Bluetooth 5.0 as well. For ports and I/O, there are two USB-C 3.1 ports with a transmission speed of up to 5 Gbps and a 3.5mm 2-in-1 headphone jack and microphone combo. 

As for the pricing, the new AMD powered Huawei MateBook 13 will cost you £699 ($864 or Rs. 65,856) from the official Huawei Store with 512GB SSD storage versions available for £749 ($925 or Rs. 70,567).
