This type of architecture ensures the maximum usage of the cores like, the smaller cores handles normal apps and the stronger ones ensures smooth gaming.

The CPU cores are backed up by a stronger ARM Mali-G52 MP6 GPU that is said to be having 162% performance improvement over the previous gen. The GPU also supports Kirin Gaming+ technology.

The Kirin 810’s NPU uses the HUAWEI’s self-made Da Vinci Architecture based on Rubik’s Cube Quantitative Stereo Arithmetic Unit. This powerful DaVinci NPU outperforms the high-end SoCs like Snapdragon 855 and MediaTek Helio P90, scoring 32,280 points in AI benchmarks.

This new GPU along with Huawei’s own AI optimizations will give you improved gaming experience due to:

  • system-level AI FM scheduling technology,
  • GPU underlying driver upgrades,
  • GPU load optimization, and
  • HD game effects optimization.

It seems Huawei has taken the gaming experience quite seriously by implementing powerful GPU optimizations to resist the likes of Snapdragon SoCs.

The series of GPU optimizations offered by this new chipset helps to reduce repeated instructions and GPU overload. Also it helps to speed up the data transfer speed between CPU, GPU and the memory.

The Gaming+ HD game special effects optimization also helps to improve the game quality, light effects and contrast, providing you a more real-world gaming experience.

For photo addicts this new SoC has brought a lot of new features like the IVP + ISP offer flagship image processing capability. Huawei has also upgraded the pixel processing unit, enhanced the white balance algorithm, implemented noise reduction in RAW image processing.

When the pictures captured using this SoC is compared against the Snapdragon 730’s Spectra 350 ISP, the Kirin 810 provides better low-light image processing.

The new Huawei Nova 5 featuring Kirin 810 SoC

Huawei Nova 5 is the first smartphone to feature this new chipset. It is great to see that Huawei has stood positive and is back in business after the US trade ban, the best part they are trying to be much more independent unit than before as we see them implementing their self-made technologies on their SoCs.
