HP’s Elite Folio is their latest 2-in-1 notebook

HP has launched a series of products at CES 2021, which is being held virtually due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. One of them is their Elite Folio. It is a new ACPC (Always Connected PC) alongside is notebooks and other peripherals.

The Elite Folio aims to combine the processing power of a laptop with the portability of a tablet. It will also come with the HP Elite Slim Active Pen out of the box, with integrated charging and storage cradle for quicker access. HP has said that it will disclose its price at a later date. It will be available for purchase in February 2021.

The world’s first pull-forward business convertible is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx SoC with a maximum clock speed of 3.1 GHz. Thanks to its integrated X55 modem, 5G functionality is possible. Configuration of the tablet is possible with up to 16 GB of LPDDR4x RAM (soldered) and 512 GB of solid-state storage via an NVMe SSD.

The new tablet comes with a 13.5 inch WUXGA (1920X1280) IPS LCD panel protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with optional HP Sure View Reflect privacy panel, and an HD webcam with a built-in privacy shutter for enhanced security. It’s input options are limited to two USB Type-C ports and a 3.5mm headphone/mic combo jack. Additionally, the included keyboard/trackpad combo connects with the laptop via Bluetooth.

It is possible to charge it fast by two methods; HP’s proprietary fast charging technology and over-the-counter USB Power Delivery charging bricks. HP claims that it can provide up to 24.5 hours of video playback for locally stored fines, but specifics about the battery’s capacity will be revealed at a later stage. It has a 76-degree field of view webcam, dual microphone array, and high definition speakers with audio by Bang & Olufsen.

Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and 4G LTE. It is also covered in vegan leather and will come in a single Shadow Black colour option.
