HP Omen 16 Max Leaks: Intel Core Ultra 9 and RTX 5080 Specs Revealed

Leaked details about the HP Omen 16 Max have surfaced, revealing a high-end gaming laptop equipped with unannounced, top-tier hardware. According to X (formerly Twitter) user MysteryLupin, the Omen 16 Max will pack Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake HX processor, namely the Core Ultra 9 275HX, and Nvidia’s next-gen GeForce RTX 5080 mobile GPU.

Intel’s Arrow Lake HX line is expected to be officially introduced as early as next month at CES 2025, likely including the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX as part of its lineup. It will sit one tier down from Intel’s flagship Core Ultra 9 285HX, with the same architecture of eight P-cores and 16 E-cores, with the main difference between the two being clock speeds.

Accompanying the CPU will be Nvidia’s RTX 5080 mobile GPU, set to launch alongside the RTX 5000 desktop GPU family at CES. It should also likely come with improved ray tracing, next-gen DLSS support, and increased power efficiency. Rumors state that the mobile GPU will feature 16GB of GDDR7 memory, as well as a 175W TGP as max (although these details are tentative).

The specs that have leaked also mention a 16-inch display, up to 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM support (which should be user-replaceable), and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD. It will measure 14.04 x 10.59 x 1.08 inches and weigh 5.92 lbs (around 2.68kg). On the left will also be two USB-C Thunderbolt ports, while on the right side will be a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-A port. The Omen 16 Max, will also come with a full-size RGB backlit keyboard featuring the HyperX logo.

Incremental thermal management and battery life details are unavailable, but HP should equip advanced heat pipe cooling hardware so well above the basic spec can be funded. Others may include familiar competitors from Asus, Lenovo, and Alienware at CES 2025 alongside the forthcoming Omen 16 Max.
