HP has refreshed its 13.3-inch Envy 13 clamshell and Envy x360 13 with new designs and CPUs this summer. The company has used the latest Ice Lake CPUs and AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile processors.
Talking about the HP Envy 13 2020 clamshell, HP has trimmed the thicker bezels for a higher screen-to-body ratio and a smaller footprint. The 2020 model measures just 194.6 mm in length compared to 211.5 mm on the 2019 model.
As for now, we see the new model running on Intel Core i7-1065G7 with 8 GB DDR4-3200 RAM and 256 GB NVMe M.2 SSD. The display is a 13.3-inch FHD IPS panel with multi-touch support, Wi-Fi 6 and battery backup of 15 hours. Soon other cheaper models will also be available with lower configs, with a starting price of $1000 from this May.
On the other hand, the Envy x360 13 convertible have a similar deign like previous gen but now like the clamshell design, dropped the upward-firing speakers with much more sleek bezels and the laptop ports have been rearranged.
The Ryzen 7 3700U processor gets upgraded to the new 8 core Ryzen 7 4700U gives better CPU and GPU performance overall which makes this portable 2-in-1 faster than the Intel Ice Lake part at just 15 W TDP. It is paired with 8 GB DDR4-3200 RAM and 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD.
