BGMI: Here’s how you can play the battle royale in India as of 27th November 2023

Battlegrounds Mobile India, commonly known as BGMI, has returned to app stores nearly ten months after it was banned in the nation. Krafton, the game’s developer, stated on Friday that the game will be returning and would soon be available for download on both Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store.

While the game is not yet accessible for iOS devices, Android users can download it from BGMI’s official website by clicking on the Play button and being redirected to the download page.

Significantly, the game remains unavailable on the app store, and even if users manage to download it through the provided website link, the game fails to launch, resulting in the inability to play. Several gamers have raised concerns regarding the Android version of the game, leading the company to release an official statement.

“Currently, the closed test track for BGMI is updated. Those who opted for a public test of the game before its launch are expected to get a message which takes them to the play store for downloading the game. However, the link won’t work, and the game cannot be downloaded as the servers have been shut down. We also understand that some other users who had not opted for the closed test are also getting this message. This is a technical error, and we are working on resolving it,” reads the official statement.

According to Krafton’s announcement, the business has upgraded the closed test track for BGMI, and players who participated in the game’s public beta before its release can now download it via the Google Play Store. However, some people are unable to download the game due to a technical problem. The company is aware of the problem and is trying to correct it.

PUBG Mobile was initially banned in India in September 2020, along with 117 other Chinese applications, as a result of a decree by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). In response to this setback, Krafton, the publisher of PUBG Mobile, partnered with authorities to release the game under the new name, BGMI, with India-specific tweaks. Unfortunately, BGMI’s relaunch was short-lived, since the company was banned again only a few months later.

Under Section 69 of the Information Technology Act, BGMI was removed from app shops such as Google Play and Apple App Store in July 2022. Since then, the firm has been collaborating with Indian authorities to bring BGMI back to life in the country.

Krafton just announced the reinstatement of BGMI to app stores after a months-long soft ban, albeit with a 90-day trial period. The authorities will rigorously monitor the game for three months, during which time the game developer will be closely monitored. Krafton has made various changes to comply, including changing the blood color from red to green. The corporation will endeavor to follow the government’s regulations, as any violations could result in a ban.
