How to Change Your Mind: Netflix’s new docuseries will teach us about Mental Illness and Psychedelics Drug 

Netflix has released the first trailer of the four-part docuseries, How to Change Your Mind which can teach the viewers about the horrible side of some psychedelic drugs. The Academy Award winner Alex Gibney has taken New York Times best-known author Michel Pollan’s 2018 book How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence.

It seems the work has been also described by The New York Times Book Review as “Gripping and surprising…Makes losing your mind sound like the sanest thing a person tour mind sound like the sanest thing a person could do.” 

When the book is just split into six chapters and an epilogue, the series is divided into four 50 minutes episodes. Now, each of the episodes also focuses on the different mind-blowing drugs: LSD, psilocybin, MDMA, and mescaline.

Pollan also serves as the viewer’s guide in this journey along with the frontiers like the new psychedelic renaissance, not remembering such identified historical context explore that potential along with these matters to give the restoring profits and change minds like the culture.

Now, the perception of psychedelic drugs has suffering certainly the changing with time as there is still a lot the public does not come to know or maybe misinformed opinion while it arrives at these extends. Now, Emmy-nominee Alison Ellwood and two-rime Academy Award-nominee Lucy Walker also directed that documentary. 

How to Change Your Mind: Plot 

The new trailer focuses on revealing the foundations of the series and makes things clear that we are arriving to learn about some positive aspects of those four drugs that we had likely no such clues about. In the interviews regarding the documentary both professional scientists and the people who have suffered from mental illnesses like PTSD and also had such life-altering experiences with drugs. 

In the first chapter, we all see the story based on LSD belongs to then origins in 19943 with the trend of today. The second chapter just reveals Psilocybin, most interestingly known as Magic mushrooms like these have been considered for long holy by the Indigenous Mazatec in Mexico and that also have more recently become the subject of scientific studies that target symptoms of the certain mental illness.

The third chapter focused on MDMA, it shows the drug become conquered by both therapists like ravers, and also standing out by the FDA as medicine. For this, the credit goes to the advocate for the value in the treatment of PTSD.

Now, the last and final chapter means the fourth chapter is about Mescali8ne that focuses on psychoactive molecule got in San Pedro and peyote cacti. The new drug also has been used by the Native Americans, they just used it as sacred medicines and along with the religion’s ceremonies.

This new docu-series will release on Netflix the next month on 12th July 2022.
