The 2024 Olympic Games will take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11 of this year. During seven days, more than 10,000 athletes will call the French capital home. There have been rumors regarding the usage of “anti-sex” beds in the Athletes’ Village since the 2024 Paris Olympics. According to these stories, the cardboard beds are intended to dissuade athletes from getting close. Some accounts claim that they are made to break when there is a quick movement.

Anti-sex beds rumour or truth?

In the middle of June 2024, pictures of the small cots covered in blankets marked “Paris 2024” started to circulate. According to the New York Post, the cardboard beds were intended to deter “lovemaking.”

Anti-Sex Beds in Paris Olympics?

Not at all! Anti-sex beds are not available for the Paris Olympics. According to earlier rumors, anti-sex mattresses will be installed at the Paris Olympics 2024 to prevent athletes from getting too close to one another. However, later reports state it isn’t going to happen. The point and case have now been established. Athletes jumped and ran on these mattresses on social media to refute the theory.

As implied by the name, the primary function of these beds is to prevent athletes from becoming intimate. The bed is said to shatter if more than one athlete lies on it. That isn’t the case with the Olympics in Paris, though. Athletes posted videos on social media. They were observed doing the worm, sprinting, leaping, and even spot jumping on the bed.

However, nothing occurred, and the beds remained intact. Actually, it demonstrates how robust these beds are. Consequently, it demonstrated how the sportsmen would be accommodated by these hefty cardboard-made beds.

Will Athletes get anti-sex mattresses during the Olympics in Paris?

The extremely lightweight cardboard beds are not meant to discourage sexual activity, as the Paris Olympics team has made clear. Rather, they are made to be sustainable and kind to the environment. The beds, which were constructed of recycled cardboard, were initially utilized during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The mattress components will be recycled into new plastic products, while the beds will be converted into paper products after the Games.

Irish gymnast Rhys McClenaghan refuted the notion on social media, saying, “The beds are intended to be ‘anti-sex.'” It’s not real! False information The Olympic team’s Twitter account acknowledged McClenaghan and affirmed the durability of the sustainable cardboard beds.

The Paris Olympic Village’s cardboard mattresses are meant to encourage sustainability and environmental friendliness rather than discourage sexual activity. The mattresses are strong enough to handle the needs of athletes, so they don’t need to worry.
