How can Pixel 8 users enable Gemini Nano in their devices?

Gemini Nano, which powers Gboard Smart Reply and Summarize in Recorder, will be available for the Pixel 8 in developer preview. With “conversational awareness,” “higher-quality smart replies” can be produced more quickly with the latter. KakaoTalk, Line, and WhatsApp are compatible with the Pixel 8 Pro. Summarize, meantime, has the ability to take a recording and produce bullet points.

How can Pixel 8 users enable Gemini Nano in their devices?

Gemini Nano can thus be accessed by any Pixel 8 user by just turning it on in the Developer settings. Although it is now only intended for testing, Gemini Nano will most likely soon be available to a larger Pixel 8 user base.

The information was released following a Google representative’s announcement on an official podcast that Gemini Nano will not be available on the Pixel 8 because of “hardware limitations.” The Pixel 8 sports an 8GB RAM instead of the Pro model’s 12GB RAM, despite both models sharing the same Tensor G3 chipset. That being said, even though the standard Galaxy S24 has 8GB of RAM, Gemini Nano is also compatible with it.

  • Step 1: Navigate to Settings on your Pixel 8.
  • Step 2: After you arrive, scroll all the way down to the “About phone” section.
  • Step 3: Locate the Build number, then press it five or seven times to receive an alert stating that you are now a developer.
  • Step 4: Return to the System setting.
  • Step 5: Tap Developer Options after entering the System.
  • Step 6: There you can see an option to turn it on. But as of now, it won’t be available for now. It will be accessed soon to all Pixel 8 users.

The next Pixel Feature Drop, Android 14 QPR3, is expected to arrive in June (if prior schedules hold true), and it will bring Gemini Nano to the Pixel 8. In addition to the two Google app features that end users will receive, developers who purchase a Pixel 8 will have the ability to utilize AICore in their own apps.
