Houssem Aouar is closing in on a transfer to Real Betis. The midfielder could leave Lyon this summer, with Betis sporting director personally travelling to France to convince him to move.
Personal terms were expected to be the biggest obstruction to the move, but that is now seemingly sorted. The player has accepted the move to Seville and if Betis can reach an agreement with Lyon over a transfer fee, the midfielder will soon be moving to Spain for a brand new challenge.
Houssem Aouar close to joining Real Betis
The La Liga side have already submitted a €13 million offer for the playmaker. And according to some reports, it has already been accepted. This is only a fraction of the amount that Lyon were demanding a year ago for their player.
Given that he only has one year remaining on his contract, the Ligue 1 side will want to sell him for a fee rather than risk losing him for free next summer. The midfielder will be playing in the same position as Nabil Fekir and Sergio Canales.
Real Betis are also planning to include William Carvalho in their deal for Houssem Aouar. The player only has one year remaining on his deal like the Frenchman. And as a result, they could accept a player plus cash offer for the transfer of the 24-year-old this summer.
