Honor has finally announced a flagship-level 5G smartphone in China, named Honor V40 Pro. After the separation from Huawei in November, this is the first smartphone launched by Honor. The Honor V40 Pro runs Magic UI 4.0 based on Android 11 OS and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ 5G chipset. For a better gaming experience, it has the support for GPU Turbo X graphic acceleration engine and Hunter Boost. Regarding the display, this phone features a 6.72-inch Full HD+ (1236 x 2676 pixels) dual punch-hole OLED panel (screen-to-body ratio of 92.3 percent) supported by a 10.7-bit color depth, a 120HZ refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a DCI-P3 color gamut. This is the first V series smartphone from Honor to have an OLED display. This phone has an in-display fingerprint reader.

The Dimensity 1000+ SoC of this phone is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Coming to the camera section, this phone features a triple rear camera setup supported by a laser autofocus unit and an LED flash. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, this phone offers a dual- front camera setup including a 16MP primary sensor and ToF (Time-of-Flight) lens for depth estimation. This phone is available in three different color variants: Magic Night Black, Titanium Silver, and Rose Gold.
The Honor V40 5G is fueled up by a decent 4,200mAH battery supported by a 66W superfast wired charging as well as 50W fast wireless charging. In terms of connectivity, this handset has various features, such as a dual SIM (5G + 5G) slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and USB-C. Additionally, this phone features dual linear motors for in-game vibrations and stereo speakers, capable of producing an enhanced gaming experience. Measuring its weight and thickness, we can say it a slimmer phone as it has a thickness of 8.04mm only and weighs around 186 grams.

The sale of the Honor V40 5G has already started in China at a price tag of 3,599 Yuan (~$556) (8GB/128GB) and 3,999 Yuan (~$618) (8GB/256GB).
