Honor MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15 laptops with AMD Ryzen 4000U APUs launched

Finally, Honor, a sub-brand of Huawei has updated its laptop line with the latest AMD Ryzen 4000U processors. It’s MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15 laptops form the budget line of laptops for Huawei while offering decent specs for the pricing.

Obviously, these new laptops are the updated ones which we previously have seen with Ryzen 3000U processors and except its hardware, you get a similar laptop with the same display, keyboard and all the physical aspects of the laptop remain the same. Honor has updated these laptops in their native country in China and will take some time to be available globally.

These laptops feature 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and 512 GB of PCIe NVMe storage. Coming to the display, likes its predecessor the MagicBook laptops feature 14-inch / 15.6-inch displays with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio along with TÃœV Rheinland Certification. The bezels around the corner are very thin as well with 87% screen-to-body ratio and weigh just 1.53 Kg.

There are two versions for both Honor MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15 laptops with 6-core Ryzen 5 4500U and 8-core Ryzen 7 4700U processors. Honor has upgraded the base variant with 512 GB SSD storage as well, which is good to see along with two colour variants and looks good as well. It comes with Windows 10 pre-installed and there seems Microsoft Office included as well.

It doesn’t have a front-facing webcam but has a key that pops up the webcam along with that there’s a inbuilt fingerprint power button for faster and secure startup. For ports, you get a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type- C x 1 (supports charging and data transfer), HDMI x 1, USB3.0 (Type A) x 1, USB2.0 (Type A) x 1.

Likewise its predecessor, the MagicBook 14 should have 56Wh battery & MagicBook 15 with 42Wh battery along with fast charging support via 65W adapter via USB Type-C which can give you 53% charge in just 30 minutes. Connectivity options of WiFi 802.11 ac (dual-band) and Bluetooth 5.0 should remain the same.

Pricing:

The Honor MagicBook 14 with Ryzen 5 4500U, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD will cost CNY 3,999 ($572 or Rs. 42,833) while the other variant with Ryzen 7 4700U, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD will cost CNY 4,499 ($644 or Rs. 48,225).

The Honor MagicBook 15 with Ryzen 5 4500U, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD will cost CNY 4,199 ($601 or Rs. 45,005) while the other variant with Ryzen 7 4700U, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD will cost CNY 4,699 ($672 or Rs. 50,322).

The specs that these laptops are offering at the prices are insane because you get 16GB RAM, 512 GB NVMe SSD with latest Ryzen APUs! Both of the laptops will be available on general sale from July 22 onwards via retailers like JD.com.
