Honor has also confirmed that the Magic 7 series will be officially launched in China on October 30. The lineup will be driven by Qualcomm’s next flagship SoC, expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. If true, that would make the Honor Magic 7 one of the first phones with this chip – before even potentially the Xiaomi 15 or OnePlus 13.
On October 23rd, a week before the phone’s launch, Honor will also announce its MagicOS 9.0. Earlier this week, DigitalChatStation had revealed key specifications of the Honor Magic 7 series as well.
More About the Honor Magic 7 Series and New MagicOS 9.0
The Honor Magic series has been of a line-up with premium design and high-end hardware, specifically the camera. With the new MagicOS 9.0, the brand is focusing on AI-driven features, as highlighted by the teaser image that reads “Witness the Magic of AI.”
There’s no information from Honor yet about the series coming with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, but that is expected. The annual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to launch on October 21-23, and it may be that phones running this chipset will appear as early as October 28.
This leaves room for the Xiaomi 15 and OnePlus 13 to possibly launch before Honor’s Magic 7. As per a leak from DigitalChatStation, the Honor Magic 7 Pro will have an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, along with up to 100W of wired fast charging and up to 80W wireless charging. The phone may also come with a micro-curved screen and ultra-slim bezels.
While the primary and periscope telephoto cameras will remain similar to the previous generation, the main sensor will be upgraded to a 50MP OV50H. The battery capacity is expected to stay at 5,600mAh. Additionally, the leak mentions that a Magic 7 Ultimate Edition, featuring OmniVision’s new OV50K large-sized sensor, is also being tested.
