The highly awaited second season of The Sandman Season 2 has reportedly started filming in the UK, according to recent developments. The show was first broadcast in August 2022, and a few months later, in November 2022, Netflix formally renewed it. However, there hasn’t been much information about the following season since then, such as casting reveals and episode counts. But now that The Sandman Season 2 filming has started, fans may celebrate.
Tom Sturridge as Dream, Kirby Howell-Baptiste using Death, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, and Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne are among the primary cast members who are anticipated to return for the upcoming season. Additionally, Delirium, Destiny, Destruction, and Wanda will all make their television series debuts. Netflix, however, has not yet made the actors available.
The Sandman Season 2 Release Date
On Monday, June 26, Shepperton Studios began filming the new season. In answer to a fan’s question regarding the status of season two, Barry Waldo, the spouse of production designer Jon Gary Steele, shared the good news on Twitter. He added that the day before, shooting had begun and that there was still much work to be done in the production.
Evidence also points to Durdle Door in Dorset, England, being the location of the present filming. The temporary closure of the site for two days corresponds with the production timetable for the series, even though the exact report does not reference The Sandman. Far From The Madding Crowd and other popular plays have used Durdle Door as their setting doctor.
Recently, a fuzzy photo from the Durdle Door play made its web debut. However, the cast members are clothed all in black in the picture, which fits with The Sandman’s distinctive look. Additionally, the setting seems to be ideal for a few comic book sequences. An individual discovered the work and found the image on the Instagram account The Wondering Twits.
The WGA Writers’ Strike’s Effect on Season 2 of The Sandman
Numerous productions have been put on hold due to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike that is still going on in Hollywood. Writers are protesting against the use of artificial intelligence in productions and calling for larger writers’ rooms, more job security, and more cash. Neil Gaiman, the author of Sandman been actively supporting the strike. However, it is unclear how the strike has specifically affected the production of The Sandman Season 2.
