India will be hosting the Hockey World Cup for the second consecutive time. They hosted the last edition of the tournament in 2018 where Belgium won the final against the Netherlands by 3-2 in the penalty shootout. India is once again gearing up to host the Hockey World Cup 2023.

The tournament will be hosted in Odisha and will commence on 13th January 2023. India is among the teams which have participated in all the editions of the Hockey World Cup. They will be making their 15th appearance in this tournament. However, India has been unable to win the tournament lately as their last Hockey World Cup win came in 1975. India will be hoping to turn their fortunes around on their home soil as they look to continue their recent success after winning the bronze medal in the Olympics 2021.
