Announcing that we would continue to see Nokia phones, one of which is coming to India in May, the company conducted an event in Barcelona the day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. July of this year will see the global release of up to three smartphones under the HMD brand, which will be available in India as well as other markets.
HMD will launch its Barbie flip phone in July in India
In July 2024, HMD plans to release three smartphones after releasing a smartphone in May 2024. Furthermore, the business has disclosed its intentions to introduce a flip phone with a Barbie motif.
Additionally, HMD wants to make smartphones more repairable and cut down on the number of steps required to patch a broken screen. In collaboration with mobile repair experts iFixit, the company released the Nokia G22 last year. To enable consumers to perform their own phone repairs, the phone comes with toolkits and replaceable parts.
Furthermore, according to the firm, 50% of all smartphones sold worldwide in 2024 will be repairable. In addition, HMD is releasing a preliminary toolkit with open design files and software integration details for developers and companies.
HMD has released some images and a video that show off the dual rear camera configuration that one of the devices will have. An HMD icon can be seen at the back, and the rear camera module protrudes somewhat. “Human Mobile Devices” is also written on the back panel, as far as I can discern.
In order to prevent detracting from the device’s aesthetic appeal, the branding is discreet and not overt. According to the graphic above, grey is one of the colors that will be made available. There is a speaker at the bottom of the gadget, along with a Type-C connector, a headphone socket, and what appears to be a relatively bulky form factor.
