The company HMD Global, best known for producing Nokia devices, is about to introduce its own line of handsets. The report was verified by Ravi Kunwar, the Vice President of India and APAC at HMD Global, in an interview with ET Telecom.

India is the most crucial and significant market from the standpoint of HMD, and considering the country’s performance and prognosis as well as its sizable consumer market, it is clear that India will be the top destination for devices bearing the HMD name. Currently, it’s safe to predict that it will happen sometime between the first and second quarters of next year,” he stated in regards to timing.
According to Kunwar, who confirmed this to ET Telecom, HMD Global would introduce its own line of smartphones in the first half of 2024. The business will introduce a number of HMD-branded products, including as smartphones, tablets, feature phones, and IoT devices, in order to create an exosystem, according to the vice president of HMD Global India. He went on to say that while targeting distinct consumer groups than its Nokia portfolio, the HMD-branded portfolio will be priced across a range of segments.
At the moment, HMD is assessing its Indian supply chain network. The business will decide whether to expand the capacity of its current partners or bring on new ones in order to meet the demands of both domestic and export supplies. India has the capacity to develop as a hub for exports to other markets, claims Kunwar.
