Hisense Partners with EPACK Durable to Revolutionize India’s Home Appliances & Air Conditioners Market

In a move set to transform the home appliances and air conditioner market in India, Hisense, a global leader in consumer electronics, has formed a strategic manufacturing alliance with EPACK Durable Limited (EDL), one of India’s prominent contract manufacturers. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Hisense as it commits to ramping up its local production capabilities under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Hisense’s Local Manufacturing Drive

As part of this partnership, EPACK Durable will set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in India dedicated to producing Hisense’s range of air conditioners and home appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, and other domestic appliances. This facility will utilize Hisense’s cutting-edge proprietary technology and premium designs.

By manufacturing locally, Hisense aims to solidify its position in the Indian market and establish itself as one of the top five brands in the home appliance and air conditioner segments over the next five years. This initiative also reflects Hisense’s long-term vision to bring technologically advanced, smart, and high-quality products to Indian consumers.

Investment in Technology and Production Capacity

Under the agreement, EPACK Durable will invest in advanced production lines to meet the demand for Hisense’s air conditioners and other home appliances. The new manufacturing facility will be located in Sricity, Andhra Pradesh, with an initial capacity of 1 million RACs (Room Air Conditioners) by FY 2027-28. Production is slated to begin in June 2025.

This partnership will also allow EPACK to optimize its current assets and infrastructure while adhering to sustainable, eco-friendly manufacturing practices. Hisense will leverage its global technological expertise and premium design capabilities, ensuring that Indian consumers receive top-of-the-line products.

Global Expansion and Export Opportunities

This collaboration is not limited to the Indian market alone. Hisense is exploring the possibility of exporting products manufactured at EPACK’s facilities to key international markets. This expansion will strengthen both Hisense and EPACK Durable’s presence in the global home appliances and air conditioning sectors. The partnership is expected to generate an additional $1 billion in revenue for EPACK Durable and its subsidiary over the next five years.

Leadership Remarks on the Partnership

Steven Li, Managing Director of Hisense India, expressed his excitement about the alliance: “We are thrilled to partner with EPACK Durable. Their commitment to excellence aligns with ours, and this collaboration will significantly boost our manufacturing capabilities, allowing us to focus on delivering exceptional products to the Indian market.”

Pankaj Rana, CEO of Hisense India, added: “This partnership combines our technological expertise with EPACK’s manufacturing strength, positioning us for leadership in the Indian consumer durables market and enabling expansion into global markets.”

Ajay DD Singhania, Managing Director & CEO of EPACK Durable Limited, emphasized the growth potential: “This collaboration with Hisense opens new avenues for us to excel in both domestic and international markets. Together, we will redefine the standards of quality and efficiency in the home appliance industry.”
