Exciting news, tech enthusiasts! Hexaware Technologies, the Indian tech giant known for its IT and digital solutions, is spreading its wings in the UK. They’ve just cut the ribbon on a brand-new facility in Birmingham, with plans to create 250 jobs by 2025. The grand opening was marked by West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street, who participated in both a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a traditional Indian lamp-lighting event.
Global provider of IT and digital solutions, Hexaware Technologies, opens new Birmingham facility to support UK growth ambitions
After setting up a pilot facility in Birmingham earlier this year, Hexaware saw a surge in demand for services like application operations, End-User Computing (EUC) services, and service desk support. This made it clear—Birmingham was the place to be! Their expansion plan is a crucial part of their UK growth strategy, aiming to establish themselves as a trusted partner for innovative IT and digital services.
Already, they’ve started onboarding over 60 local employees, and they’re not stopping there. They’re on the hunt for top-tier talent to join their growing team, with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) skills team lending a helping hand.
This move comes a year after Mayor Andy Street led a delegation of business and political leaders from the UK’s West Midlands to India. The trip resulted in several strategic partnerships aimed at boosting trade and investment between India and the West Midlands.
In the 2022–23 financial year, India surpassed the US to become the West Midlands’ leading source of Foreign Direct investment (FDI), with tech-led investments playing a significant role. The region also emerged as the UK’s top location for attracting FDI outside London.
Hexaware CEO, R Srikrishna, expressed his excitement about the move: “We aim to deliver personalized services to our large and rapidly growing British customer base while helping build and improve the economy and talent in local communities. Birmingham and the Midlands, with their rich and diverse talent base, offer immense potential to meet both objectives.”
Mayor Andy Street added: “India is now one of our region’s leading sources of foreign direct investment, and the West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is spearheading our international strategy to further strengthen our reputation as the UK’s leading FDI recipient outside of London. This investment announcement from Hexaware a year on from our trade mission is a fantastic result. I look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength here.”
Councillor John Cotton, Leader of Birmingham City Council, also shared his thoughts: “Birmingham is a hub of educational excellence, home to several world-class universities. With this expansion, we offer students and professionals alike a unique opportunity to gain invaluable industry experience through work placements with Hexaware.”
So, if you’re a tech enthusiast in Birmingham, keep your eyes peeled for opportunities with Hexaware. Things are just getting started!
