Heung-Min Son is arguably the single best player in the Premier League right now, apart from Harry Kane, who has formed an unbelievable partnership upfront with his teammate.
“It’s more that Son loves it here, I believe that he would like to commit his future to the club for a long time,” Jose Mourinho said when asked about Son’s future at Spurs.
“I would love that,” he said. “Son has three years of contract so it’s not like we’re in an extreme situation of everybody being worried.”
The Spurs forward recently changed his agents to CAA Base, who also represent Tottenham’s manager Jose Mourinho. According to multiple sources, including episode 16 of the “Here We Go” Podcast hosted by Fabrizio and Francesco Romano on Patreon, the South Korean is very close to signing a new deal at the club.
It is now normal for the biggest clubs in Europe to pry over the best players in the world and try to lure them over. Considering how important their number 7 has been since the start of the 20/21 season for the London Whites, they should be willing to do everything to make sure he is happy and stays at the club.
CAA Base reportedly have a great relationship with Daniel Levy and have been negotiating over the player’s future in recent weeks. A £150,000-a-week deal has reportedly been in the works, and is close to be agreed on by all the parties.
The new contract will see Son stay at the club for atleast five or six more years. The forward is loved by everyone at the club, and will be a talismanic figure in the years to come. Especially considering that he has helped Spurs reach the top of the table at this stage in the season.
