The Dutch midfielder started the game against Napoli for Barcelona on Saturday and played for 90 minutes and he was one of the best player and obviously the best defender on the pitch. After arriving from Ajax, even though we did not get the best out of him but yes, during the last match against Napoli, he was a player to look out for.

But, if you have noticed him in that game, his hand was bandaged in an odd way, obviously many have questioned this and some may have thought this to be the Dutchman’s new style. However, the actual reason has been revealed today:

He was actually stung by a bee and his hand got swollen, so he played the match with his hand bandaged. But, however, De Jong was certainly not affected by his hand against Napoli and played one of his best football games. His hand was still swollen on Sunday’s recovery session.

This will be again a crucial night for the Blaugranas as they will face Bayern Munich on Friday in Lisbon for the Champions League quarter-finals. Barcelona had a day off today and will likely return back to training from tomorrow to prepare for the clash.
