Fans waiting for Raju, Shyam, and Baburao to reunite on screen just got a reality check straight from the man who made the franchise iconic.

Director **Priyadarshan** has confirmed he is no longer attached to **Hera Pheri 3**, and in a candid chat with Hindustan Times, he didn’t sugarcoat it: “I am not associated with Hera Pheri 3 at present. To the best of my knowledge, Hera Pheri 3 will never hit the screens due to lots of issues and personal conflicts.”

That’s about as final as it gets — but here’s the full picture.

## What Exactly Did Priyadarshan Say?

| Detail | Update |
| --- | --- |
| Director’s stance | Confirmed exit from the project |
| Producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s response | Says talks are “on the right track” |
| Cause cited | Ongoing legal and personal conflicts |
| Original trio | Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal |
| Franchise origin | 2000 film, remake of *Ramji Rao Speaking* (1989) |
| Priyadarshan’s next release | *Haiwaan*, September 11, 2026 |

Producer Firoz Nadiadwala had already hinted at the director’s exit, though he insists the project itself “is moving in the right direction” — leaving fans guessing whether a third installment will ever materialize without its original creative force.

## Hera Pheri 3: A Franchise Too Loved to Let Go

*Hera Pheri*, [originally released in 2000](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hera_Pheri), has earned cult status for its chaos-driven comedy built around three broke men chasing a misdirected ransom call. Its sequel, *Phir Hera Pheri*, only cemented the trio’s place in Bollywood comedy history — which is exactly why a third part has been so fiercely anticipated, and why its uncertain future stings.

## Priyadarshan Isn’t Slowing Down, Though

Even with this setback, Priyadarshan has plenty on his plate. His suspense thriller *Haiwaan*, starring Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kajol, and Bobby Deol, arrives in theaters September 11, 2026.
