Vampires in the 2005 MBC sitcom *Hello, Francesca* lived quietly among humans. Now the story is back with **Francesca Next Door** (also called **Next Seat, Francesca**), and this time the vampires have to pass a math test. If you’re wondering what’s new and what’s familiar, here’s a quick guide.

### What Stays the Same

The unique premise is untouched: vampires hiding in plain sight. The drama also treats the original as family. **Shim Hye Jin**, the original Francesca, makes a cameo in the trailer. Dressed in all black, she warns the new heroine, “Francesca, I hope you don’t make the same mistake I did.” Fans of the sitcom will get chills.

## What’s New?

**The cast of teen vampires and humans**

- **Pi Na Young (Han Su A):** A vampire who transfers in from Romania and struggles to adapt.
- **Jang Woo Joo:** The class president who sits beside her and learns her secret.
- **Yoo Hyeol (Lee Seung Gyu):** A second vampire, also hiding his identity at school.
- **The butler (Yoo Young Woo):** Warns her never to let anyone discover what she is.
-

Pi Na Young accidentally reveals herself to a terrified Jang Woo Joo, and the two make a secret agreement. But temptation is close. When Woo Joo gets a nosebleed, her suppressed instincts surface, and she quietly pleads, “Just one bite.” The trailer ends with her saying, “I’ll be the one to decide what this feeling is.”

## Why It Might Work?

Vampire stories and high-school romances both live on forbidden feelings and secrets. Putting them together in a classroom, where seats are assigned and everyone notices everything, raises the tension. The nod to the original gives it heart, and the new cast gives it energy.

## Watch While You Wait?

- **IDOL I:** A recent drama featuring Kim Hyun Jin, who is tied to this project, available on Viki.
- **First Lady:** Han Su A’s recent drama, also on Viki.
